Build your cast¶
Over months. Berd's crafted personas are worth reading before you write your own; an agent is a markdown file with a role; a skill is know-how saved once; and Berd learns how you work only when you say it may. This is where the product stops being generic.

Berd ships a small cast of specialised personas, and the mistake new users make is treating them as modes to cycle through. They are a cast. You pick one for the moment, and you change only when the kind of work changes. This page is the front door; the cast itself is documented, agent by agent, under Agents. Takes 5 min · Moment new

An agent is a markdown file: name, description, avatar, optionally a provider and model, and instructions. The file is easy. The role is the work. This page is how to get from "I keep explaining the same thing" to a saved agent that improves every time you correct it. Takes 20 min · Moment apply

Share, import and keep your agents
An agent is a markdown file, so sharing one is sending a file and keeping one is keeping a file. Berd dresses this up as a trading card, and the card is useful — but the file underneath is what survives. Takes 5 min · Moment apply

Write a skill and decide where it lives
A skill is a folder with a SKILL.md in it: instructions an agent loads when a request matches the skill's description. Any agent can use it. Two decisions on this page outlast the writing — where the folder lives, and what the description promises — and one rule can silently change an agent's behaviour. Takes 20 min · Moment apply

Berdy's stated purpose is a two-way introduction: it shows you Berd, and it learns how you work so every agent works your way. What it learns is written to plain text files on your disk, and nothing is written without your word-for-word yes. This page is how to use that deliberately — and how to keep client material out of it. Takes 10 min · Moment more
