Huddles reached mobile
A foreground voice huddle now works on Android and iOS: join, mute, speaker routing, participant list, minimized drawer. Desktop agent text-to-speech is broadcast into the same audio, so an agent speaking on someone's desktop is audible to phone participants. What is not on mobile: agent setup, transcripts, background calling and recording. Since the transcript is what agents hear (step 3), the practical rule is that a phone participant can be in an agent huddle but cannot run one. Last checked: Buzz v0.5.20, 2026-09-02.
1. Decide what belongs in a huddle
Voice suits thinking out loud with agents present — talking through an analysis, working a problem where typing slows you down.
Two limits worth knowing before you start. Not every model replies in voice; slower ones may not respond usefully at all. And a huddle with agents in it is a huddle where everything said is transcribed and enters the workspace. Do not take confidential conversation into one. See Handle sensitive data where agents are present.
2. Start the huddle and add agents
Start the huddle in the channel, then add the agents you want present.
3. Turn on the transcript
This is the step people miss. Agents cannot hear the room by default — the transcript is what reaches them. Press the keyboard/transcript control and start the transcript.
Note
Without this, the huddle works fine between humans and the agents simply never respond, which reads as the agents being broken. Check your build — this two-step sequence may change in future versions.
4. Speak, then stop the transcript
Talk normally. Stop the transcript when you want the agents to respond to what was said.
Expect latency. Some agents reply in voice, some in the channel. If an agent is speaking and you start talking over it, your voice takes precedence and the agent's speech yields — barge-in behaviour that was broken for part of the v0.5.18 cycle and has since been restored.
Where an agent's spoken reply lands has also been clarified upstream: a huddle reply is a huddle reply, and the channel record is what you write in step 5.
5. Capture the outcome in the channel
Write the conclusion into the channel afterwards. A transcript is a record of a conversation, not a decision — and it is a poor thing for a future agent to reconstruct intent from.
